In the past few years, digital art has grown in popularity, relevance, and volume, with new softwares and types of digital art being created and developed every day. There are dozens of types of digital art, ranging from 3D voxel modeling to app/web design.

Now that information and social connections are being accessed mostly online, many companies and businesses selling an online product, service, or platform depend on digital art to make their interface look attractive. While becoming a traditional, physical artist is still a potential occupation, the new career of digital art and creation is opening up.

Maybe you’ve been trying to get into it, watching a few YouTube videos here and there, checking out new software, but you just can’t seem to find all the different options you have, and how to get started with them. The information overload in this digital world can sometimes harm more than help, as it provides us with so much jumbled information, it can be nearly impossible to make sense of it all.

To help kick off your digital art journey, here are a few categories of digital art — and how to get into them, so you can start your journey as a digital creator.
