Stop Doing This Beginner Notion Mistake.
Here’s what to do instead
If you’ve just started using Notion, you’re probably super excited, super confused, and super overwhelmed.
Don’t worry — that’s how I felt when I first started, too.
Notion is a very powerful productivity tool, but it can also be very complex.
You can create anything, so it’s hard to know where to start. There’s almost too many options and possibilities.
To counter that, you’ll likely try to focus on the ‘simpler’ tools.
First, you might try out text blocks, then images — maybe even a bullet list.
You’ll get the hang of those few basic block types, and then start to build your fully-functioning Notion workspace with just those simple blocks.
And that’s your mistake.
Because if you truly want to take advantage of Notion, you have to use it’s most powerful(but seemingly advanced) feature:
Databases.
What are databases?
Databases are basically collections of information that can be displayed in many different ways.
Those ways are called ‘views’.
