The Importance Of Journaling And How To Start Doing It
There are so many different ways to journal, and so many benefits it gives both your mind and your soul

There are so many small moments in our lives, ones that bring out our smiles, laughs, frowns, or even tears.
Whether the day is eventful or rather normal, there are always some feelings and thoughts at the end of it, swirling inside our minds, chasing into our dreams, and maybe even carrying on to the next day.
Talking about your day is something you might only have done when you were younger and were asked by your parents or older siblings. Maybe you still do it with friends, or maybe you don’t do it anymore.
Not talking or reflecting on your day may not seem like a big deal or something to want to ‘fix’.
Yet, if you think about it, it’s like pouring water(life and it’s many emotions) into a bottle(us/our minds), day after day after day. With no way for the water to go out, it’s trapped in there until one day, it overflows and drips — or even explodes — out.
Of course, some people have more of a need to reflect on the past than others.
For some, like me, it’s an important part in making peace with ourselves and planning for the future, offering some mental clarity and emotional relief from busy or stressful days.
For others, it’s simply a poor use of time that could be better spent actively preparing for and living out the future — to them, the past is just the past!
Benefits of Journaling
If you’re still on the fence if journaling is something that you want to pursue, here are some reasons why, and how, journaling can help you.
Process And Understand Your Day
One of the top reasons to journal is to be able to really see what you’re feeling. In our minds, things are messy and tangled — it’s not structured enough so we can accurately see our true thoughts. We can miss patterns that we tell ourselves aren’t there, or over exaggerate a certain thought that we think is ‘socially acceptable’, even if we don’t really feel it.
